Now living in Los Angeles, Christopher Thaxter works at a mutual fund company in Santa Monica called Dimensional Fund Advisors. In their Print department, he does layout for sales literature and presentations, and automates PageMaker and Excel to create presentations automatically. He also copyedits much of their print and website material.
Having been an avid juggler since he was twelve, Christopher now helps his mother Patricia to organize a regional juggling festival in Sacramento. The "Damento" Juggling Festival (DAvis/sacraMENTO) takes place at Cosumnes River College the first weekend of February. It attracts all sorts of object manipulators and entertainers, both casual and professional. Christopher organizes the performers for the Saturday variety show.
Unfortunately, Christopher's involvement in the creation of music has slowly petered out. Uh-oh. No more composing (it doesn't seem to put bread on the table) but he does have a subscription to both the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Opera. Does that count?
FAVORITE THOSE MEMORIES!:
• The sheer number of performances
that we did my first year, 1995-1996. I think it was twelve in two semesters,
most of them paid!
• Walking and singing. I remember that whenever we happened to have representation of each part, we would break into song while walking across campus or across Disneyland.
